Naturemetrics

We’ve just completed a number of videos for biodiversity monitoring heros Naturemetrics, which involved a couple of days filming in Surrey, and a another in the Norfolk area. The videos will be used as a marketing campaign and were part funded by UEA, after Naturemetrics won the Outstanding Commercialisation of Technology category at the inaugural Impact and Innovation Awards 2018.

Naturemetrics use cutting-edge DNA analysis to monitor biodiversity and measure natural capital in the environment, uncovering multiple species from complex environmental samples in low-cost and repeatable ways. We had great fun meeting the team, and hanging out with Kat, CT & Katie, learning more about their great toolkits that enable shared ecology expertise.

The video also introduces the Citizens eDNA Kit, which enables anyone to take water samples from anywhere and send them off to be tested at the lab. NatureMetrics has run a  eDNA service since 2015, and have processed thousands of samples for a wide variety of clients.
